HIDDEN DIET TRAPS AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

HIDDEN DIET TRAPS AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

Do you not lose weight despite a strict waiver? You may have hidden diet traps in your diet. "Health Tips blog" reveals where undetected calories can lurk.

It's bewitched: even though you slow down while you eat, nothing happens on the scales. This is due to secret fattening. You should note that:

Replace fruit with vegetables

You eat a lot of fruit and still don't lose weight? Maybe there are too many! Because sweet fruits provide considerable amounts of fructose. Because, unlike glucose, it does not release insulin, it has long been considered healthier. In the meantime, however, its disadvantages have been recognized: it is converted directly into stomach fat via the liver. Therefore you should replace some of your fruit snacks with vegetables (e.g. carrots, celery, kohlrabi).

A balanced breakfast stops cravings

Starving in the morning leads to obesity. Because especially in the morning, the metabolism should be boosted properly. And: With a balanced breakfast, the dreaded cravings do not materialize. Milk, curd cheese, yogurt, fruit and also plenty of carbohydrates - you should eat this in the morning.

Beware of hidden fats in frozen vegetables

Vegetables are rich in vital substances and ideal for losing weight. But be careful: Vegetable fat is often contained in frozen vegetables for a better flavor. Therefore, always check the fat content on the package: up to 4 grams per 100 grams are fine.

Alcohol makes you hungry

Alcoholic drinks are not just calorie bombs - they also stimulate your appetite. If it should be alcohol, then choose a spritzer.

A lot of stress promotes fat storage

Negative stress increases the cortisol level. This not only increases the appetite for sweets, but also favors fat in the belly area. If it gets really stressful again, this exercise ensures relaxation: close your eyes and inhale and exhale deeply. Close the right nostril with your right thumb for 3 minutes. Breathe in and out on the left, then switch sides.

Focus on the food

This doesn't even mean chips and nuts. Nutritionists also think it is wrong to nibble carrots or eat a banana in front of the TV. Because: You should concentrate on eating - and only on what you are eating. If you watch TV, you shovel yourself thoughtlessly and hardly know what you were eating afterwards. Even worse: At some point, television alone triggers feelings of appetite. Because the body gets used to the fact that it always gets something.

Salt stimulates the appetite

Salt can sabotage your diet. Salt itself contains no calories. But as a flavor carrier, it increases the urge to access - even when you're already full. It is no coincidence that typical snacks such as chips, peanuts or pretzel sticks are heavily salted. Fast food and ready meals also tempt us to eat with salt.

Drink a maximum of one glass of juice a day

Fruit juices are healthy, but in addition to vitamins, they also contain a lot of fructose that promotes fat storage. A glass of unsweetened juice a day is fine - but as a thirst quencher you should definitely extend it to a spritzer with plenty of water.

Reach for whole grain products regularly

Nothing against a crispy baguette. But: Only white bread gets too many pounds in the long run, because it contains almost exclusively empty (technical term: denatured) carbohydrates and no valuable nutrients. That's why you should eat whole grain bread in between. Or sunflower seed buns. Or spelled bread. The choice is great. The same applies to pasta and rice: from time to time you should use whole grain products.

Ready-made tomato-based sauces contain less fat

Ready-made pasta sauces are ideal if you want to go fast, but many of them are high in fat. Slim tip: Red tomato-based sauces generally contain the least fat.

Better eat carbohydrates instead of raw food in the evening

Just a salad for dinner? Although it has few calories, it does not bring much for staying slim. Because raw food that you eat in the evening fills the intestines, but is not quickly removed. Result: digestive and permanent figure problems. Better for health and body: Eat carbohydrates in the evening, e.g. potatoes or pasta.

Drink a glass of water before each meal

Drinking water helps enormously in losing weight. It fills the stomach, dampens the appetite and also ensures a radiant complexion. It is best to drink a large glass of (still) water immediately after getting up and before each meal. You will find that you automatically eat less!

Assemble your own muesli and save sugar

Most of us believe that a cereal is generally healthy and good for your figure. Unfortunately not true, because muesli is not just muesli. Ready mixes are particularly tough - there are easily 400 calories per 100 grams. If you mix the muesli with a fruit yoghurt, 200 calories are added. Tip: mix your own. Add 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of quinoa (brings a nutty taste) and 5 tablespoons of unsweetened cornflakes to a bowl. Cut 100 g of apple or other fruit of your choice into pieces and mix with 150 g of natural yoghurt (0.1% fat) into the muesli. That all adds up to a slim 260 calories!

If ready-made pizza, then one with low calories

Many choose the Italian or the freezer for the mozzarella-tomato pizza. According to the motto: the less on it, the fewer calories - and catch a secret fattener. For comparison: A medium-sized portion (350 g) of tomato mozzarella has about 875 calories, a pizza Hawaii, one with ham or a vegetarian, however, about 100 calories less!

A lot of sleep keeps you slim

80 minutes less sleep than usual and you eat almost 600 more calories the next day. Scientists at the renowned Mayo Clinic in the USA discovered this connection. So get to bed as early as possible - and sleep in!

Take cane sugar or honey to sweeten

In theory, you can lose weight with sweeteners. For example, if you drink four cups of coffee with two teaspoons of sugar a day and replace this amount with sweetener, you save 37,000 calories a year - and could lose 6.5 kilos. Actually logical, but it doesn't work! The body reacts differently to sweeteners than to sugar. The reason is the lack of satiety, which stokes the cravings and leads to the fact that we simply eat more. It is best to sweeten with cane sugar, maple syrup, honey or agave syrup.
