DO-IT-YOURSELF POWER SMOOTHIES
DO-IT-YOURSELF POWER SMOOTHIES
Smoothies are concentrated fitness in a glass: full of vitamins, mineral, ballast and secondary plant substances. The creamy-puree purees made from fresh fruits and vegetables can also replace a snack.
Fruit and vegetable smoothies
Smoothies are made from several fruits and vegetables or a mix of both. They are extremely healthy because all the fruits or vegetables are crushed in their raw state. Green smoothies contain a particularly large number of vital substances.
Mix smoothies according to taste
There is no basic rule of what goes together - it's a matter of taste. Start with sweet fruits first and gradually try new creations with vegetables. Make sure that you add vegetables with a high taste, such as celery, sparingly.
Refine smoothies with spices
Would you like more variety? The fruity variant also tastes delicious with almond milk, yogurt, cinnamon or vanilla. You can spice up spicier mixes with ginger or chilli.
Pay attention to the ingredients of finished smoothies
Finished products from the refrigerated section are not as healthy as freshly pureed ones. In the production process, vitamins and fiber in particular fall by the wayside. Sugar and flavorings are often added. Therefore: always pay attention to the label.
Trend: green smoothies
Leafy vegetables such as spinach, arugula or lettuce are the basis for the viscous raw food. Because the leaves are difficult to puree, they are first crushed with a little water or juice in a blender. Then puree other ingredients such as apple or banana. This works perfectly with a high-performance mixer. The effect: the valuable ingredients are optimally and quickly available for the body.
Tip: puree the fruit
Bananas, mangoes, peaches, pears: soft fruits can be easily shredded with the turbo of a hand blender. The creamy fruit puree is made even more delicious by milk products such as yogurt or kefir. Coconut milk gives smoothies an exotic aroma. A little lemon or lime juice intensifies the taste of the fruit and also provides a plus of vitamin C.
Sweeties with honey
If you don't want to do without sweetness, round off your fruit drink with a little honey, maple or elderflower syrup.
